Principal’s Message

        Welcome to Iqra Education Society’s, H. J. Thim College of Arts and Science, Mehrun, Jalgaon, an institution where excellence is a tradition. Significantly, H. J. Thim College of Arts and Science is best described as a pioneer in the task of empowering the Muslim Minority students of Khandesh region through education and character building.

        The college was started in 1991 with the motto “to bring Muslim minority, and particularly girls in the main stream of higher education”. It has over 27 years of its glorious history that has grown phenomenally and full-fledged premier Muslim Minority Institution. Apparently, the college has a long-standing academic tradition of brilliance in learning and teaching. Today it caters to over 700 students in Under Graduation, Post Graduation programs.

        I have joined this college on 15th December 2016 as a Principal and it is my privilege to become a part of Iqra Family. H. J. Thim College is reputed for providing quality liberal education in the Humanities and in the basic Sciences. The college has an excellent infrastructure; with good classrooms, strong library and well equipped laboratories. For appropriate teaching-learning experience the faculties of the college use ICT tools.

        Truly speaking, Sports and other general facilities are among the best in the region. Students Counseling Cell, Earn and Learn Scheme, Book Bank are some of the student centered programs run in the campus.

        The faculty is distinguished and the support staff is dedicated. The teaching-learning programs are marked with personal mentoring, students are encouraged to work in collaborative teams and learn from peers. The emphasis is on innovative teaching strategies that provide experiential learning through project work, field work and case studies. We impart formal education with a difference even as we work within the constraints of a traditional university system. Here, in Thim College campus, students are groomed for curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular excellence.

        At H. J. Thim College, we believe that each student is special and has the potential to excel in many different ways. The touchstone of all our programs is an active engagement of all the stakeholders that nurtures individual talent. Through carefully crafted interaction and activities within and outside the classroom, we provide experiences that help the student discover innate capabilities, set life-long goals and proactively work towards their fulfillment. The college looks forward to its development into a young and energetic campus hosting different courses to carry forward its vision of providing holistic education to the rising number of students aspiring for higher education in this region.

        The college is re-accredited as “B” grade by NAAC Bangalore in 2012(II^nd Cycle); with 2.70 CGPA. I welcome you all into this leading institution and hope that you would have a wonderful experience in the campus!!!
